Falling through the Earth is the much awaited debut album from Stockholm based musician and producer Fredrik Ohr. Fredrik has a long background in classical piano and as a song writer, and that is highly evident in the subtle complexity underlying his music. Fredrik's physical and intellectual journeys through Asia and Buddhism are also very well felt in his music. Falling through the Earth offers a wonderful dreamy and fresh combination of North European atmospheres and textures interlaced with Asian influences, all dipped in 70s psychedelic delicate feel. Fredrik's music has special warmth of instrumental and vocal work springing forth from sophisticated layers of electronic sounds, glitches and breaks creating an enchanting combination. Aleph Zero invites you to take part in this wonderful musical journey.

Interview with Terje Winther

Email from User Group: Glenn Folkvord (PlanetOrigo.com)

Hey,

Check out this new interview with Terje Winther (of WintherStormer fame)
on the occasion of his new solo album, Electronic Regions, rooted in
Berlin School and ambient music.

With favourable reviews (example: "Woodwork is probably the best album
of its genre to come out of Norway ever") and always highly acclaimed
for their totally live concerts, WintherStormer has become Norway's
possibly sole ambassador for a kind of music generally associated with
artists and bands from Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. While Berlin
School is perhaps too narrow a label to put on WintherStormer' s music,
their improvisional performances and long song structures - and rather
often catchy spheric sequencer patterns - hail from the Teutonic
soundworlds of the 70s, as well as other classic European space
electronica. Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze are among the main
influences.

However, both as a band member and as a solo artist with two albums
under his belt, Terje Winther has managed to develop a distinct style of
his own, a style which is far from the typical "Arctic electronica" of
so many other Nordic electronic music composers. On the occasion of the
release of his new solo album Electronic Regions, Planet Origo spoke to
Terje Winther about music, synths, live shows, WintherStormer and his
solo work.

Forum issues...

The forum will be offline for the foreseeable future. There seems to be a bug with some of the IPBoard code. They have been notified so hopefully they will be in touch soon.
Problem is I'm off out for a few days for a little bit of camping and surfing... so, erm, laters!

I may launch a new one when I get back. That really depends on time though...

We give you... "Zodiac"

The Ambient Collective are proud to present to you our latest release called "Zodiac".
12 tracks of pure ambient heaven spanning the genre. From sublime drone to full on epic movie style; IDM right the way through to stargazer...

The collaboration was conceived in January 2008 and was only finished this week when the last track arrived. The collection is very exciting to listen to and very, very relaxing too.

I would probably say that Zodiac is by far our best release to date... but I say that all the time ;)

Enjoy,
